This month, FOUR years ago, we filled our our application to adopt with All God's Children.
This month TWO years ago, we left the orphanage and were headed home with Seble.
This month ONE year ago, we first saw two faces on Bethany's ...waiting children listing.
After this past 4 year process that has changed our lives, here we are THIS month with three more kids from Ethiopia-who all have families forever and even though we can't change the world (as people have told me many times) :-) We have changed the world for these THREE, and it has changed us for the better. We will never be the same, we will never go back.
"Once our eyes are opened we cannot pretend we do not know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls knows we know and holds us responsible to act." Proverbs 24:12
Its not easy, by any means, its often messy, not fun, scary and very, very hard-but God is faithful! HE is faithful.
After being home with our two older adopted kids, this verse below struck me in a totally different way then when I read it during our waiting period. It is one I cherish even more now as we watch God continue to write their story.
"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily,
surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow,
be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day."
Habakkuk 2:3
