"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

Seble's Readoption Ceremony

Today was a special day in our family-we "re-adopted" Seble.  This was done because we wanted her to be able to get her official US birth certificate.  All she had was an Ethiopian one-which will make this hard down the road to obtain driver's licenses, marriage license, social security card, etc.... AND with that comes her "new name".  You see in Ethiopia-it is tradition for the kids to take the father's name as their middle name-so on all her documentation her name was "Seble Adam".  We will now have all her new documents in her real name "Seble Alaine Stutzman".
I actually got teary eyed when the judge said that "Each part of her job is very hard and no one really likes the things that she has to do. In all the things that she does in her job-almost all are not very good-but this thing that she is about to do is the best thing-the thing that makes everyone happy.....and that is to make a family. So now I am making you a family." She said.  Now yes, we already were a family-Seble has been legally ours since Nov. 19th-and she was an American citizen since we landed in DC....but now, now she has a US birth certificate with her full legal name.  The name that her country gave her and we gave her put together.  We are blessed beyond measure.

The team that went to Ethiopia!

Our Trip to Cannon Beach- Seble's FIRST TRIP TO THE OCEAN!

Amber won an overnight stay in Cannon Beach at the Hallmark Resort-it was wonderful to get away for a night -with our little stowaway Seble of course!

This is the view from our room!

We also had a nice gas fireplace in our room!

Seble is ready for her spa treatment! LOL

This was what I could lay in bed and look at-wish it was for a week and not just one day-it was beautiful.  We slept with the window open to hear the ocean and even though it was cold-I love the sound!

2 other views from our balcony

Our Hotel in the background-

Seble has never seen the ocean OR sand before-she actually loved it!

She loved the cold water-we thought she might cry, but no, she wanted more-she wanted down to get into it!

Strolling on the beach-

"HMMM what is on my hand?"

"I better taste it to see if it's any good!"

                               "Yuck not very good!"

Trying to crawl in the sand was cute to watch-she was very cautious-it moves when her hands go down so she put them down very softly for a few times and very slowly-not sure if the ground was gonna stay in place it seemed.

Our cute little toes in the sand............

"Although it may not always be obvious to us, there seems to be one distinct moment when God begins a new story in each of our lives. He writes words on our hearts that long to be spoken and strain to be lived out. Then with His own great hand, He begins to write the script. Experience by experience through seemingly ordinary days, He supernaturally orders our lives. Only when we look back and reflect on what appeared to have been the ordinary events of life does it become clear what a miracle the Lord has performed." Jan Beazely
