The kids made "Dirt Babies" at the Oregon Ag Fest...it would be a fun school project for a teacher to do-you take a pantyhose and tie a knot in one end....leaving a tail under the knot. Then put a handful of grass seed in it, then fill b...all size with dirt. Let the kids hot glue eyes, mouth, nose, etc....and send it home. Put water in cup and set dirt baby on top of cup with pantyhose "tail" down into water to suck up the water....it will start growing with in a week and then take off!

"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

"Although it may not always be obvious to us, there seems to be one distinct moment when God begins a new story in each of our lives. He writes words on our hearts that long to be spoken and strain to be lived out. Then with His own great hand, He begins to write the script. Experience by experience through seemingly ordinary days, He supernaturally orders our lives. Only when we look back and reflect on what appeared to have been the ordinary events of life does it become clear what a miracle the Lord has performed." Jan Beazely

ReplyDeleteLove this! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteWe do this with our students at outdoor School! If you trim the hair, flat top style, it will keep growing and stay green. It will also get thicker. Interesting idea is put the grass seed around the edges and not on top. The kids love to see the results. :)
