"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

Touching Adoption Journey from another AGCI family

The mother in this video wrote this:
For us, we know the calling on our family is to bring our two little girls home, but it can't end there. The problem is to big. It's too BIG. 143 Million wait. We are just one family. What can I do, you might ask? What difference does one or two adoptions make? It is said that you can be a lot of things to a lot of people, or you can be EVERYTHING to one. It starts with one. There is a statistic that if every Christian family adopted ONE child, there would be NO MORE ORPHANS. That's just Christian families. Another statistic states that about 40% of Christian families have thought about adoption, but only 1% ever do it. There are tons of reasons why they never do-finances are at the top of the list. I assure you that if we were waiting for our finances to be ideal, we would have missed the awesome opportunity to be mom and dad to two little girls that wait tonight in a care center across the world. We'd never think it was a perfect time, but God's timing is perfect.

  1. Actually if only 7% of professing Christians adopted - there would be no more orphans :)!!!!

  2. I haven't been following many blogs lately, but occasionally read the listserv. I noticed you are having some challenges and want you to know I will pray that you don't have to deal with more obstacles. Adoption is hard enough and people fail to realize that it is such an unselfish thing and should be anything but supportive. It goes back to the old saying "if you have nothing nice to say..." Thinking of you...

  3. Amber I just love this video you have posted. I am wondering about making shirts for our family and extended families. Who could I ask from the family in the video about how they made the shirts? With your groovy short design perhaps you know the best way to get a perfect Africa shape to cutout and use a s a pattern? How did you design your shirts?

  4. Hey Adam and Amber, I stumbled upon your blog googling something and realized We had touched base with you in the past through a fundraiser or something. I hope you are doing well. We now have 10 kids! I think we were adopting Eli last time we talked. We have since adopted 4 from Uganda.
Blessings and I guess you now have 8 kiddos! Blessings, Melissa Carter

"Although it may not always be obvious to us, there seems to be one distinct moment when God begins a new story in each of our lives. He writes words on our hearts that long to be spoken and strain to be lived out. Then with His own great hand, He begins to write the script. Experience by experience through seemingly ordinary days, He supernaturally orders our lives. Only when we look back and reflect on what appeared to have been the ordinary events of life does it become clear what a miracle the Lord has performed." Jan Beazely
