"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

WE ARE OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weighing EACH piece of luggage!!!

Tonight while you sleep, we will be getting up and heading to the airport in Portland to fly out to DC and then on to Addis Ababa to meet our daughter and see the beautiful country that she is from. Here are the things we will be doing.....
*Nov. 12th-fly from PDX to Dulles, get to our hotel and then hopefully in the evening go see some of the things in DC-monuments mostly.

*Nov. 13th-spend the day in DC going to the monuments, Smithsonian Museums, Holocaust Museum and Ford's Theater, etc.....

*Nov. 14th-Go to Arlington cemetery, drive through Georgetown, head back to Dulles and fly out in the evening
--------------------------
*Nov. 15th-arrive in Ethiopia-Bole Airport in the evening....(remember that Ethiopia time is 11 hours different from here-pacific time-So when you all go to bed, we will just be waking up for the morning ahead of you.)
We will check into our hotel after meeting our driver from the orphanage. We will stay at The Riviera Hotel Here is the link http://rivieraaddis.com/

*Nov 16th-we will be touring the Fistula Hospital in the morning.
http://www.fistulafoundation.org/hospital/ which we are VERY excited about!! It is world famous for helping the women in Africa and is featured in the DVD Documentary "Walk To Beautiful" (if you haven't see it-you gotta! It is a newer movie-but the library has it) http://www.walktobeautiful.com/
We will then hire a driver and go see some of the old churches, museums and historical sites in Ethiopia. We will also hope to see the church that Abby was taken to....which will be very emotional but very special too. It may take a few trips to see all this-and one of the days we are there, we also want to go here and climb to the top of Mount Entoto for what we hear is an amazing view! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Entoto
There is a chance that we will get to meet Abby on the 16th-but it will probably be the next day.

*Nov. 17th-MEET ABBY day (we think) (so this will be when you go to bed on the 16th.) They have arranged for us to spend a few hours a day at Hannah's Hope the orphanage and see the kids and spend time with our baby!

*18th-orphanage and seeing sights.....one of the days, we will go shopping for the afternoon and go to lunch at an Italian restaurant! There they have lots of art that is locally painted and we plan to get one to hang in our house and then give to Abigail when she marries. They will also take us to an Ethiopian Dinner and Dance show with traditional music, dancing and food of Ethiopia one of the nights.
We will also be going to the Korah Dump at some point during our trip (this is the dump of Addis Ababa where thousands of adults and children LIVE and call their home). We will meet the people that run Project 61 http://www.p61.org/ who work to get kids sponsored for only $700 a YEAR (which takes them OUT of the dump, sends them away to school, gives them hygiene items, food, clothing AND school supplies)! This is an amazing program and we are excited to see what it is all about and hopefully sponsor a child when we get back!
We may also have the opportunity to go and visit Bethfasa orphanage where Abby spent 2-1/2 weeks of her life before coming to Hannah's Hope. It will be very sad as it is a government run orphanage and the care isn't what it is like at Hannah's Hope but it is important to see and be able to tell her about. There are SO many kids here and just not enough care.
Ok-back to what dates we DO know:
*Nov 19th-We will appear in court to say YES we want Abby for our daughter!!!!

*Nov. 20th-fly out in the evening.....

*Nov. 21st-land in Dulles and spend a few hours again in DC, fly out to PDX and arrive home that night.......
and we hope get the news after we get back that week as to when we can go back, have our Embassy Apt. and bring Abigail home!
We are doing well-pray for us for peace and safety and the emotional stability to be able to leave her there! Also please pray for our kids as they stay here with Adam's mom that they have a good time, stay healthy and safe! Oh and pray for Adam's mom with 4 kids in tow! :-)
Thanks for all the love and support you have all shown! We so much appreciate your prayers and support! See you in several days!

PS-Adam pulled through and got everything done and ready to go-and he PLANS on getting on that plane!!! Love ya all!

"Although it may not always be obvious to us, there seems to be one distinct moment when God begins a new story in each of our lives. He writes words on our hearts that long to be spoken and strain to be lived out. Then with His own great hand, He begins to write the script. Experience by experience through seemingly ordinary days, He supernaturally orders our lives. Only when we look back and reflect on what appeared to have been the ordinary events of life does it become clear what a miracle the Lord has performed." Jan Beazely
