Hi guys, well despite ALL the prayers-which we really appreciate-it didn't happen, we are not going to Ethiopia to bring our baby home this week.....we are so upset there are just not words.....it is hard to hold my anger in as I try and remember that it is Christmas-and God already knew about this too. Well, we have NO idea at this point when we will go and it is SO SO hard!!! The next available dates are Jan. 10th and 24th....but there is no guarantee that we will get one of those...it is all just a waiting game now.
I don't know what to think!! Yes, my head knows God is in control, has a plan and everything else, but in my heart-it hurts SO BAD!!! Pray for peace and that we get that
10th date-and i don't know with Ethiopian Christmas (Jan. 7th) how it will affect everything.
On a good note, my mom's doctor gave her permission to go with us still as long as she can start radiation when we get back by the 17th of Jan. ....but if it's not soon-SHE can't go!!! We need your prayers right now-we are hurting and confused. Also, I am in a pretty good amount of pain with my ankle and it is hard to be physically hurting as well as emotionally spent! We covet your prayers-love you all-amber

"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

"Although it may not always be obvious to us, there seems to be one distinct moment when God begins a new story in each of our lives. He writes words on our hearts that long to be spoken and strain to be lived out. Then with His own great hand, He begins to write the script. Experience by experience through seemingly ordinary days, He supernaturally orders our lives. Only when we look back and reflect on what appeared to have been the ordinary events of life does it become clear what a miracle the Lord has performed." Jan Beazely

ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry that this is happening to your family, and I'm praying for God's peace to rule over your family and the other families who are waiting in Ethiopia too. I know you said that you know God is control, but your heart is still hurting, but I hope you have faith in what Romans 8:28 says- God works everything for good, including this. I'm praying that your family grows in love for God during this, and that you get to bring your whole family home soon. I also pray for the physical healing of your ankle, and that your mom is able to join you all. Also, thank you for the sacrifice your family is making to love the fatherless of this world.
Hang in there Amber! I know exactly how frustrated you are because we finally got our daughter home last Saturday. We received our referral May 5th and I think we managed to hit every hurdle imaginable: Elections, court closures, agency changing attorneys, paperwork problems, etc. Finally, I got an email on a Wednesday saying I needed to be in Ethiopia by Saturday! You will make it through the other side no matter how it seems now. I won't say that having your child in your arms erases all the pain but it is an amazing tonic. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
