"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

Our Twins are NINE!!!! Cassidy gets ears pierced!

Our twins turn nine today-we can hardly believe it! This time 9 years ago I was up at St. Vincent's hospital still trying to get my labor to stop at 33.4 weeks along. I was on magnesium and not feeling too well but still smiling! By evening I was at 9cm and they couldn't stop labor any longer-Cassidy was wanting out! She was tired of holding up her brother! I didn't have a c-section with them. Cassidy was born first and then 21 minutes later-after trying to get him to turn right, Zachary-but he had to come out feet first as he wasn't in agreement with his sister that they should leave their home. Cassidy was 4lbs 6oz and Zach 4lbs 4oz-almost same which is really good for twins to be this close in weight. They were so small and although didn't need any long-term help breathing, they stayed in NICU for only 2 weeks to learn how to hold their temperature, learn how to suck and let Zach learn how to not have spells of apnea (stop breathing).
It is funny to think about that as that is exactly like their personalities now-she "holds him up" so to speak-she comforts him, helps him, teaches him and he ACTUALLY listens to her (and only her). They have a bond, and it is fun to watch. I never got into the whole twin bond, special language, etc....but they do treat each other slightly different than their other siblings. She is a little mother to him in a way-took care of him from womb on! :-)
Well, Happy Birthday Zach-oh-Rye and Munkey.....you are so big now but I will never forget the struggle we had to have you and the worry you put us through-you are amazing kids and bring a lot of joy and laughter to us! We love you bunches!
Cassidy had to wait until she was 9 to get her ears pierced, so she was way excited to finally be able to-she did great, only cried for a minute....but was so happy to have it done. We got her that and also a silver cross necklace when we were in Ethiopia that we brought home for her BD. She loved it. Zach got a bike as his was totally trashed from all the use. They had their little friends over Sat. -Cassidy had a "Girly party" and Zach took the boys to Wanderland to play video games.
Tonight we are having a nice dinner and cake and a relaxing BD. Enjoy the pictures-

"Although it may not always be obvious to us, there seems to be one distinct moment when God begins a new story in each of our lives. He writes words on our hearts that long to be spoken and strain to be lived out. Then with His own great hand, He begins to write the script. Experience by experience through seemingly ordinary days, He supernaturally orders our lives. Only when we look back and reflect on what appeared to have been the ordinary events of life does it become clear what a miracle the Lord has performed." Jan Beazely
